Round Four | SA Football Facilities Fund

Introduction

The SA Football Facilities Fund provides funding to develop Australian Rules football facilities across South Australia.

The aim of the program is to:

  • Provide fit for purpose, inclusive and accessible facilities that cater for a diversity of participants, particularly all genders and all-ability participants, that wish to participate in our game
  • Maximise available carrying capacity of existing venues and the quality/functionality of supporting infrastructure
  • Develop increased supply through construction of new ovals, especially in growth areas
  • Develop venues to support high performance and talent pathways for players and umpires
  • Provide welcoming and functional facilities that enhance the experience for volunteers and spectators

Eligibility

The following organisations are eligible to apply:

  • Local Governments
  • Affiliated Community and SANFL League Football Clubs
  • Umpire Associations
  • Schools and tertiary education institutions that have strong linkages with clubs or competitions, which are used as regular community competition playing or training venues or commit to making space available for use in future

The following other eligibility criteria apply:

  • Location of project must be in South Australia
  • Project must meet the AFL Preferred Community Facility Guidelines
  • Project must have evidence of approval, support or acknowledgment of the project from venue owner (ie: local government or educational institution)
  • Applicants who have existing funding and/or outstanding reporting obligations for previous funding secured through SANFL, State Government or AFL funding programs may not be eligible to apply
  • Projects planned in functional, self-contained stages are eligible
  • Applicants may group projects into a single application however maximum funding amounts still apply (ie: a council applying on behalf of multiple community clubs to upgrade lighting at multiple venues)
